Tom Mast, founder of Solve American Gridlock
The members of the class of 1967 graduating class of the Harvard Business School recently voted on their list of the Top Issues Facing the USA.
Polarized Society 60
Dysfunctional Government 51
National Security (economic & military) 36
Economy 29
Climate Change 28
Threats to Democracy 19
It is interesting that the top two vote-winners are ones on which Solve American Gridlock focuses. The word Polarization could easily have been used in our name rather than Gridlock. Polarization in America’s society, government, and media causes gridlock, or per Merriam Webster: a point in a struggle where neither side is capable of winning or willing to give in. Dysfunctional Congress is one of the two topics with which our organization is working. #discord #congress
Our other topic is Global Warming (Climate Change). Our emphasis on it is that the ways America is going about fighting Global Warming is not getting the job done, so some pivotal changes are required in our approach to the mitigation of greenhouse gases. #CO2
